Nobody works a shift until the file is complete

This is the checklist every worker clears before we dispatch them — and the documentation we hand your home on request.

Identity and eligibility

  • Government-issued photo ID verified in person or by live video
  • Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada
  • SIN validation for payroll

Screening

  • Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check (ON) or Criminal Record Review Program clearance (BC), within six months
  • Two supervisory references contacted and documented
  • Employment gap review during interview

Credentials and licensure

  • PSW certificate (ON) or HCA certificate plus Registry number (BC)
  • CNO (ON) or BCCNM (BC) registration confirmed for nursing placements
  • Food Handler / FOODSAFE certification for dietary roles
  • Licensed administrator credentials where the role requires them

Health and immunization

  • Two-step TB screening
  • Influenza and COVID-19 records per facility policy
  • N95 mask fit testing where required

Training before first shift

  • Infection prevention and control
  • Safe patient handling, transfers and mechanical lifts
  • Fire, code and emergency response
  • Abuse prevention and mandatory reporting
  • Dementia care and responsive behaviours
  • WHMIS and food handling where applicable

What we carry so you don't

  • Commercial general and professional liability insurance
  • WSIB (ON) and WorkSafeBC (BC) coverage for every worker
  • Certificate of insurance and clearance letters on request
  • Signed PHIPA / PIPA confidentiality acknowledgements
  • Vendor agreement, rate card and documented no-show replacement policy

The credentials differ — we track both sets

Ontario

  • PSW certificate from a NACC, Ministry-approved or community college program
  • CNO registration in good standing for RN and RPN placements
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check within the last six months
  • Two-step TB screening plus influenza and COVID-19 records per home policy
  • Food Handler Certification for cooks and dietary aides
  • Optional listing on the PSW Registry of Ontario

British Columbia

  • BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry number, verified by us
  • HCA certificate from a BC-recognized program or Registry-approved equivalency
  • BCCNM registration for RN and LPN placements
  • Criminal Record Review Program (CRRP) clearance for working with vulnerable adults
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 for cooks and dietary aides
  • Current CPR Level C and Standard First Aid
